Exemplary Laveen Principal

Lisa SandomirLisa Sandomir, Principal of Maurice C. Cash Elementary School, has been named a 2015 Exemplary Principal by the Rodel Foundation. The foundation honors teachers and principals at high-need schools, who display traits of making measurable differences in the lives of students.

Sandomir has 22 year of education experience, including 11 years as a classroom teacher. She said it is important to be visible and cultivate relationships.

“Building a collaborative relationship with our community has benefited our staff and students in several ways. Our students and teachers feel supported and cared about,” said Sandomir. “It’s this support that keeps our students and teachers motivated and encouraged to keep working as hard as they do. The appreciation that our parents and community members show reinforces that what they all do makes it worth it,” she added.

As a winner, Sandomir will receive a $1,500 savings bond, and will spend two years as mentor to aspiring principals.
