Scooptacular Celebrates Four Years
“You seem to be located in a great community.” We have heard this statement from several people over the past four years. For those looking in from the outside of our South Mountain community of Laveen, there appears to be something different here and we agree. When you “like” us on Facebook or review our comments on Yelp, one thing is certain about our business, it is strongly supported by the people of Laveen.
We first drove past the empty space that is now home to Scooptacular in December 2009. Excitement and anxiety filled us at the thought of potentially fulfilling the dream of owning our own business. We believe that it was God’s guidance through the trials and successes during the months that followed that developed the perspective and foundation that Scooptacular would be built on. We are so thankful for the community of Laveen. You welcomed us into this community and have continued to support us through the economic ups and downs.
Although we knew nothing about making ice cream until two months before we opened, our experiences have helped mold our recipes into delicious creations. We source our ingredients from all over the world. Our chocolate is from Belgium and our Vanilla beans are from Madagascar to name a few. We also wanted our ice cream to be a real and clean product. Our milk and cream are the real deal from our dairy cows. Not one of the 10 variations allowed by the FDA. Did you know the ingredient label “milk” has seven different forms of milk? As long as it chemically reconstitutes itself back to milk, it is allowed for use by the FDA. We are proud to share that our milk is what one would expect–the liquid from a cows udder.
Last month we launched a few new flavors for Relay for Life, White Chocolate Strawberry with Hazelnut Swirls, Banana Split and Dark Chocolate Cheesecake. Scooptacular now offers select flavors in gallon containers ready to go. We also have birthday parties, an option to come in and create your own flavor with one of our ice cream creators, delicious ice cream cakes as well as shave ice machine rentals.
If you have not had a chance to meet our “scoopies,” please stop in and say hi. They are an essential part of our Scooptacular family and will probably remember your favorite flavor the next time you visit.
We are thankful to live, work, and play in this great community!
