The Vig Fillmore, the third and newest addition to the popular locally rooted lineup of hangouts is now open on Downtown Phoenix’s Fillmore Street. Set in a historic house on the northwest corner of Fillmore and Fourth Avenue, The Vig Fillmore offers a uniquely downtown neighborhood atmosphere with a lush, comfortable full-service patio complete with an outdoor bar, signature bocce ball court and fireplace making for a fun and lively escape.


“We really found the perfect location in Downtown Phoenix and are ecstatic to be open,” says Tucker Woodbury, owner of The Vig. “Although the Fillmore location is under The Vig umbrella, it is especially unique as it encompasses the area with thorough thought put into the design, menu and atmosphere to match and pay homage to all the special characteristics of the neighborhood.”


Set on the property of the former Local Breeze restaurant, The Vig Fillmore’s historic house has been carefully rehabilitated, renovated and restored to keep its historical characteristics from its inception in 1914. Original exposed brick interior has been kept in place along with much of the nearly 100-year-old wood flooring.


Executive Chef Jorge Gomez, formerly of Chelsea’s Kitchen and La Grande Orange, has crafted a menu that includes favorites like Pad Thai ($13) with spicy rice noodles, tofu, bean sprouts, peanuts, tamarind, egg and lime and reinvented Carne Asada ​($15), tender and tasty atop a potato pancake with housemade guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, cotija cheese and roasted tomato garlic sauce.


The Vig’s sandwiches include the Best Turkey Sandwich ($13) with house-roasted turkey, dill havarti, cranberry chutney, roasted tomatoes, cole slaw and honey mustard mayo on pretzel bread. On Monday nights from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. patrons can order the house-favorite Fillmore burger and fries for just $5.
