The South Central Corridor Study, also known as an Alternatives Analysis, is an evaluation of several high-capacity transit modes — including light rail, bus rapid transit and modern streetcar — and routes to determine the option that would best serve the community. The evaluation is necessary to begin the federal process for capital funding. Funding for the study was provided by a Federal Transit Administration grant with a local match from the city of Phoenix.
