Smashburger Opens at 24th Street, Baseline Road

Smashburger, the nation’s fastest growing “better burger” restaurant and Phoenix’s “Best Burger,” as voted by the readers of Phoenix New Times and Arizona Foothills Magazine, recently opened its newest Valley location at the Marketplace at South Mountain at 2415 E Baseline Road.

According to Smashburger, the restaurant’s secret is 100-percent fresh, never frozen, Certified Angus Beef and smash it on a 400-degree flat grill to sear in the juicy flavor. To further the “better burger” experience, every Smashburger is served on a butter toasted artisan bun and topped with a selection of real cheeses, the freshest produce and top-quality condiments.

“We developed the Phoenix menu to reflect the spicy flavors of the region,” says Smashburger Founder & Chief Concept Officer Tom Ryan. “Guests have really enjoyed the Arizona specialty items at our other Phoenix locations and we look forward to bringing these to the South Valley.”

Each Phoenix-area Smashburger will feature a regional menu created with regional flavors and tastes in mind. The Phoenix menu includes the signature Arizona Smashburger, which is a 100-percent Certified Angus Beef burger, topped with habanero cheese, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, onion, chipotle mayo and fresh jalapenos on a chipotle bun. Phoenicians can also enjoy the Arizona Devil Dog topped with habanero cheese, guacamole, fresh jalapenos, spicy chipotle sauce and tomatoes on a lightly toasted poppy seed bun as well as the Arizona Cobb Salad featuring a mix of fresh greens, applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, onions, guacamole and fresh jalapenos topped with spicy chipotle dressing.

Smashburger’s signature recipes and create your own burgers are smashed fresh, served delicious every time. But Smashburger is more than just burgers. The restaurant also serves up chicken sandwiches, grilled and seared hotdogs, and salads, with an array of sides like veggie frites and rosemary and garlic–seasoned Smashfries. Guests can pair their meals with beer, wine, handspun Häagen-Dazs shakes, and root-beer floats.

“This is an exciting time for us as we continue our expansion in the Phoenix area,” says Kurt Riske, Brand Manager for SunWest Burgers, the local franchisee. “We already have locations in central and north Phoenix and we think that residents in the South Mountain area will enjoy our great-tasting burgers and chicken sandwiches.”
