Local Restaurants Earn ‘Best of’ Rankings
Three local businesses have been nominated by the Phoenix New Times for its annual Best of Phoenix issue. Scooptacular Hand Crafted Ice Cream at 51st Avenue and Baseline Road, The Grove Cafe at Baseline Rd. on 27th Avenue and Amano’s Bistro at 16th Street and Baseline Rd.
Scooptacular opened up just over two years ago in Laveen with the goal of providing amazing ice cream with a family fun atmoshpere. All of the ice cream is made at the store. They currently serve more than 35 unique flavors including three nationally recognized award winning flavors, Chocolate, Strawberry and Vanilla. These three flavors have been awarded Red Ribbons by the National Ice Cream retailers Association.

The Grove Café, a weekend breakfast café, opened in November of 2011 at Venue at the Grove. The Café is located on a beautiful pecan grove and guests have the option to sit indoors or outdoors. The surrounding is a small escape from the Arizona desert. They provide quality food and good portions, menu favorites include the popular Pecan-crusted French Toast, large omelets and pork chili verde.
