AAEC Student Wins Prestigious ASU Scholarship

Karl Cabrera, an Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center Early College High School Senior, has been announced as one of only 25 Arizona State University Leadership Scholarship winners for 2012. Cabrera will receive a four-year scholarship and have an opportunity to learn and grow as a leader while giving back to the greater community. Cabrera will graduate at the top of his high school class in May 2012. He will also graduate in May with an Associate’s of Arts and an Associate’s of Science with a concentration in Math from South Mountain Community College. AAEC’s unique model has allowed Cabrera to earn more than 70 transferable college credits while in high school. He plans to major in Industrial Engineering and is looking forward to a bright future.

AAEC – South Mountain is an “A” rated school and is one of 5 AAEC Early College High Schools.  AAEC affords students the opportunity to take college courses on the SMCC campus tuition-free and earn high school and college credits concurrently.
